“Life is like a camera: you focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out – you take another shot.”
I would like to share with you some pictures from my first official photo shoot as Miss Manitoba World 2017 with Mark and Vintage and Vogue Photography.
This is the third time I have worked with Mark. The first time was an indoor/ outdoor mix of pinup and vintage styles at his studio in Summer 2015, and the second time the shoot had the theme of ‘The end of WWII,’ located at the Winnipeg Train Museum and The Forks in Summer 2016 (see all those photos here).
This time, we celebrated my achievement as Miss Manitoba World 2017. We shot in his studio and at a small river in Ste Anne, Manitoba.
The white background really makes the coral color pop! This stunning coral dress is from Christie’s Bridal located in Steinbach, MB. Christie’s is sponsoring me dresses to wear at Nationals, so stay tuned for that future post!
Here we have a ‘holding the sash’ picture, and one with just the crown – I love how rich the blue jewel is!
I loved how my makeup turned out at the shoot and it’s all thanks to Makeup Artist Swank Style.
I couldn’t decide which of these mirror shots to include – so I decided to include both! The color contrast between the coral dress, the deep blue in the crown, and the teal of the mirror make for a very unique shot, especially on a dramatic dark background.
Do some of these pictures look familiar? They should! I used three photos from this shoot as the headers at the top of the page!
Before we switched locations, Mark had one more idea he wanted to try. The photo on the right is one of the results! The yellow lights were not added in Photoshop, but were done by hanging lights in front of the camera! The added lights and the teal backdrop give a vintage-feel to an otherwise modern shoot.
The last location was in the Ste Anne’s community, not even 5 minutes from the studio. This gorgeous river and the natural setting were a perfect ending to another great shoot. If you want to check out more pictures from this shoot, visit the studio’s blog post about our shoot here.
It was a pleasure to work with Mark from Vintage and Vogue Photography again, and I am so happy to be able to share the photos with you!
